Scared-Excited

The greatest fear a person can have is loss of control.

When there is a loss of control, the body switches to panic mode.

Panic mode is a survival mode.

A cluster of physical responses, thinking, and behavior that match those feelings (for example, sweating, changes in breathing, heart rate, and pupils).

Fear usually involves a broad orientation towards your environment.

There is danger, threat, shame or risk.

Once it took courage to get food.

But you also need to know where you stand, what your options are and what the consequences are so that you can strike or flee.

That orientation is the basis of this emotion (but boredom or overstimulation can also precede it).

In nature it was vital to remember where to go and where not to go. So we have become strong at remembering the circumstances of that situation.

Things that have acquired their definitive value go to the unconscious so that you no longer have to think about them but can act directly.

Dangerous situations give a similar reaction in your brain and therefore also a similar reward on the outcome.

That is why there is no difference for your brain between Efteling and an accident with a happy ending.

Anxiety suppresses the immune system.

The immune system suppresses memory.

Memory rejects this recovery system {because this repetition could be dangerous}

The immune system that you restore (with learned repetition) does not work when there is unprocessed fear. It then learns that this situation has not been resolved properly.

Usually we then switch to what is called "playing dead" in nature.

You hushed, petrified, paralyzed ... literally or figuratively.

You often give an explanation instead of "feeling what you feel".

Sometimes you have to feel through all kinds of layers of emotions before you recognize the oldest first fear. So those are those situations where you talk about anger with a weak hand or say with a fist that you are so sad.

For example, surrender or anger often precedes fear.

However, you will not always associate surrender or anger with fear.

Fright, the reaction to an unexpected event and fear, the fear of something specific belong to this group, but also shame and excitement are part of this.

Excitement in a negative sense or positive sense.

For example, think of the excitement for a party. You don't know what's coming. You can place this under the heading orient.

Without fear you walk under a bus or you are dragged into dangerous adventures.

You can suppress your fear if that fear is unreal (but what's beneath it) but simply ignoring your fear is like driving through the traffic light with your eyes closed ...

Investigation for authenticity. There is often an old real fear underneath. Feel it.

The end point of fear is helplessness. Fear without options.

Powerless to run or fight.

Then there is nothing left but "playing dead". Waiting passively.

In nature, an animal surrenders when it is impotent prey for its hunter. This is a situation that is never permanent in nature. He dies or can still flee or fight. So if it happens in humans for a long time, it costs a lot of energy (see body reaction).

Fear is useful and helps you to judge whether you should go along with it, yes or no.

Always take fear seriously until your ratio can reason that there really is no danger.

There may be inability.

There is no purposefulness yet.

Orientation is a common word here.

In case of fear, it is important to clarify fact and fiction.

What scares you can be factual and then judge it realistically. It can also be fiction and then it is useful to overcome your fear.

The distinction between fact and fiction is the degree and possibility of suffering.

Allow yourself so much security that you can act boldly.

Take responsibility for your fear and choose rational attack or rational surrender.
